Twisted: A couple who’d been drinking all night ended up in an argument in his front yard on township Road 378, Friday. The male said the fighting started when she couldn’t find her wallet and blamed him for taking it, and told deputies the last time he saw it it was beside her keys. He said at one point, she threw a Febreeze bottle at him and continued to “get in his face.” He said they were screaming at each other and she was getting out of control so he pulled her to the ground. The female admitted throwing the Febreeze bottle at him and threw a punch but missed him, but said she’d “only had a few Twisted Tea’s,” while he’d been drinking “mostly liquor.” He said they’d been dating about four months but he “doesn’t see the relationship working out anymore.”

Turf battle: Another Jefferson County resident is upset someone was mowing part of what he says is his lawn, Friday. The Wintersville man said he and an aunt have been arguing over a strip of land next to her mother’s fence that she believes is part of his grandmother’s property, and when he tried to tell her to stay off it she ignores him. The aunt said grandma owns the strip and she’s in the process of getting a surveyor to come mark the boundaries.

Unpleasant: An Amsterdam resident reported a neighbor had killed a dog, Friday. The resident reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot and then seeing a man carrying a “black bag with something inside of it,” and said the dog was no longer in sight. After putting the bag in the bed of his truck the man tossed the dog’s chain over the fence. Deputies said there was no sign of a dog or shell casings when they got to the property, but the owner of the dog later contacted the department to report a family member admitted in a text he shot her dog and wanted to know how she knew.

Creepy: A Jefferson County man was disturbed because a Tier 2 sex offender was inquiring about his girlfriend’s name and where she lives, Friday. He said his girlfriend is 23 but looks much younger and felt the man was stalking her. Deputies said it wasn’t a crime to ask about her, but the couple could obtain a protection order if they felt it necessary.

Games people play: A man said his ex threatened to spray him with mace when he approached their son in a Market Street parking lot, Friday. He said he was returning home when he saw his child and said he wasn’t going to walk past without acknowledging him, but she didn’t like it and pulled out her mace. She said he’d said something earlier to her new boyfriend she didn’t like.

Slow down: A concerned resident in the vicinity of Southeast Drive told police a delivery driver “constantly drives through the area at a high rate of speed,” and when asked to slow down “was heard yelling obscenities back toward the residents.” The caller voiced concern for children playing in the area.

Be glad he’s gone: A Forest Avenue resident said her ex is trying to intimidate her, Friday. She said he continued to call her on her cell and landline, and this time left a message that he was going to come to her house and take his belongings out whether she was there or not. She said he’s also subscribed to gun magazines and is having them sent to her home.

Shenanigans: A tow truck operator who impounded a trailer that had been left on a business lot said the man purporting to be the owner paid to have it released and sold it, then he got a call from a man in Pittsburgh who said it had been stolen from him, Friday. Police told the tow operator to contact the buyer and have him bring the trailer back so they could check its status.
